Taiwan, an economy with 23.2 million people and an unemployment rate of 4.4% in 2011, should be considered an important player when it comes to electronics, technical materials, new technologies, semi- conductors and many other industries.According to an ING Bank report of December 2012, the import demand of Taiwan will grow with an average of 17% per year to US$722 billion in 2017, making Taiwan the 12th largest importer worldwide. Although the biggest importing countries in 2017 will be China, the United States and Germany, the countries and economy that show the highest increase in demand for imports of foreign products are Vietnam, Indonesia and Taiwan.
The signing of the historical Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) with China in 2010 has paved the way for the growth of demand for Taiwanese products in China and renewed Taiwan’s role as a gateway to the Greater Chinese market. The Netherlands – Taiwan Joint Business Council, in its 20th year, is proud to organize this seminar for Dutch companies to meet the delegation from the technical textile industry, offshore wind energy industry and knowledge institutions. The delegation consists of businessmen with serious plans in purchasing Dutch expertise and technological knowledge. Some Taiwanese clients are looking for cooperation and investment opportunities in Holland. Who should attend: |
