As below, please refer to English translation of the program of  Care Innovation Region Utrecht (in Dutch: Zorginnovatieprijs regio Utrecht) organized to nominate the candidates of Dutch Care Innovation Prize.

The National Healthcare Innovation Prize encourages innovative healthcare entrepreneurs in the startup and scale-up phase. The prize money allows the winning innovation to take further steps in the development of its business. Each region nominates one candidate for the national prize. During eHealth Week Utrecht 2019, Economic Board Utrecht will announce the Utrecht nominee. The theme of the Utrecht nomination meeting is self-management.

Douwe Jippes, founder of Healthy.Capital, opens the program. With his company, Douwe helps digitize care organizations and invests in new (self)care innovations. In his presentation, he highlights what Healthy.Capital thinks is important before investing. Klaas Jan Bolt, business developer at Uzelf, gives a short presentation about the role Uzelf fulfills in guiding (self)care innovations in the Utrecht region.

In addition to the entrepreneurs who are competing for the prize, attention is also paid to the cooperation between the Utrecht region and Taiwan for (self)care innovation. Illustrating this, Valerie Hsu, director of Taiwan Globalization Network, gives a demonstration of the Qoca platform (and 4 other Taiwanese innovations. This Taiwanese) health care innovation is currently being deployed in Utrecht (and the Netherlands) via the Soft Landing Bridge by TGN and Economic Board Utrecht between Europe and the Taiwan region.
